Pastora Ruth Mercado
Ruth Mercado was born in the United States to Puerto Rican parents who were pioneers of the Gospel. At the age of five, while her parents were pastors in Chicago, she received a direct calling from God through a dream. From that early age, her father began to give her opportunities to minister the word of God.
In 1972, she married Pastor Angel L. Mercado, and to this day they have worked together at the Rebaño Compañerismo Cristiano International Ministry, which they founded together. One thing that sets her apart in her calling is her submission to the authority God has placed in the life of her husband and pastor. Her experience as a pastor’s daughter, a pastor’s wife, a mother of four, and now a grandmother of fourteen, has enabled her to be more effective in teaching families.
His vision is “to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.” (Luke 1:17)
She is the founder of the ministry «Light to the Family,» where countless families have been restored through her refreshing and motivating teaching. She has also opened several Ministerial Training Schools with her husband and helped found the CARE Physical Therapy Clinic in Honduras. She is an anointed woman with a powerful message of restoration and deliverance. Her desire is simple: to wash the feet of the Lord’s servants by serving families. She is a woman of faith, and nothing intimidates her.
She has had the opportunity to travel to many countries where her compassion for souls reflects the love of God. Her television program has reached thousands of people in different countries around the world, and lives have been transformed by the power of God.
In addition, she is the author of more than fifteen books aimed at the family and Christian education, such as:

As a woman of vision, she has always longed to bring excellence to the Lord’s people and has therefore dedicated herself to her preparation. She has received her certificate in Christian Education from Beka Christian College, School of Tomorrow, Moody Bible Institute, the Evangelical Teachers Training Association, the Association of Christian Counselors, and Wheaton College, and her Doctorate in Ministry and Philosophy in Theology from Vision International University.
Although she is a teacher of the Word, God also uses her in the gifts of prophecy and knowledge, as well as in healings and miracles. She has believed what Habakkuk 1:5 says, “Look among the nations, and see, and be amazed; for I will do a work in your days which, even if told, you would not believe.”
Ruth Mercado is an exemplary woman for the Lord’s people, and her motto is to be a servant of the saints, bringing light to the family. And now, as Pastor of the Flock of Texas church, her desire is to raise up an army of leaders with their potential to snatch souls from the enemy and prepare a willing people for God.
